Black Angel

Born and raised in the heart of mini- Quisqueya aka Dominican Republic-ville which many now refer to as “The Heights” during the notorious crack era, Black Angel, who is now residing in Queens, has been writing since the day she picked up her first crayola. With parents of Dominican descent this latina has been hard at work writing poetry since the age of 13 and never looked back. While in high school, her poems were published in the weekly paper on numerous occasions. Now at the age of 30, she has performed at the infamous Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Bar 13, Culture Shock at the Sutra lounge, Baltimore, Maryland, Latino Cultural Festival at Flushing Hall of Science as well as several colleges including LaGuardia Community College to which she’s an Alumna, as well as prison facilities including Eastern Correctional Facility and Rikers Island. Her style is said to be one of brutal honesty and what’s needed in a world filled with lies. Some may say they need to brace themselves when she’s on stage with her powerful voice, but she’ll always leave you wanting more. She is currently available for performances and can be reached at any moment: blckmamba514@gmail.com
