Brother North

Born in the South Bronx, Division X lead vocalist, Brother North, mixes heart of the slums lyrics with music from all forms of the African Diaspora. Whether it is Dancehall, Gospel, Jazz, R & B, Roots Reggae, Salsa, Rock, or Soul, Brother North spits the truth with poetic verses that elevate the artform of Boom Bap Hip Hop. An MC, producer, song writer, edutainer, North has shared the stage with artist as vast as Common, Dead Prez, Pharoah Monch, Suheir Muhammad, Lemon, Erykah Badu, Saigon, and Malik Yoba at places such as CBGB's, The Knitting Factory, Southpaw, Public Assembly, Webster Hall, as well as performing at Estadio Olympico during a Bungee Jump Festival. Along with the rest of Division X, Brother North is an artist that uses art to help uplift the community. He has performed at numerous activist oriented demonstrations. The biggest of these events was an anti war rally at the Washington monument, which was attended by over 100, 000 people.
